How it works
The DPFi System developed with Johnson Matthey is an active electrical DPF. It uses an electrical heater to raise the temperature inside (to over 600°C/1,112°F) and burn away the particulate matter (PM), regenerating the filter for reuse. This system is ideal for Toyota Land Cruisers and other light equipment with low exhaust temperatures (below 200°C), which don't produce enough heat for efficient passive regeneration.
The system is also compliant with new regulations in Ontario and the USA (MSHA) and CSA approved. To change the filter, simply unscrew 2 bolts and remove it, without needing to change the entire system.
Combustion engine with DPF vs. 100% electric
With a DPF, there's no need to completely change equipment as with electric vehicles. You can also retrofit your existing equipment, which is often a more affordable solution than a fully electric vehicle. Choosing the DPF option will allow you to continue using your existing equipment while considerably reducing its environmental footprint and the ventilation needs related to harmful emissions.
